About me:

I was born on September 14, 2001. I am a very creative and determined person which both play a role in the hobbies and activities I enjoy. These include, drawing, painting, listening to kpop/jpop, watching kdramas and anime, biking, and spending time with friends. I love learning new languages which is a factor that plays into why I joined the Japanese Plus Program and why I am so interested in Korean pop culture. Some of my achievements are placing in the National Spanish Exam competitively, being accepted into the International Baccalaureate program, and winning the schoolwide literature essay contest.

Personal Statement:

“Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” This quote by Aristotle motivates me everyday to be passionate in learning about the things I am interested in. When learning new languages, it is very easy to give up because it’s hard. However, my emotional attachment to the language strengthens me and shows me how much I really want to achieve this goal of mine. Outside of studies, this quote is a motivational factor for almost every aspect of my life. This is because I am a very competitive person and it is easy for me to do things just to be the best, rather than doing it for my heart or my own benefit. I will continue to study Japanese with my heart until my ultimate goal of complete fluency is reached.
