About me:
Some of my hobbies include listening to all types of music, hanging out with my friends and playing sports like tennis or soccer. Two personal qualities that I think I possess are organization and respect for others. Personally, one of my favorite genres of music is k-pop. Ever since I have discovered this genre of music, I have been obsessed with Asian culture and their language, which has led me upon this program where I can learn both.
Personal Statement:
I enjoy the complications of learning a language because it shows me how persistent I have to be in order to keep doing so instead of giving up or finding something else to do. When I graduate college, I plan to become a psychiatrist. Being a psychiatrist, it would be a good thing to know different languages in order to communicate efficiently with some of my patients. Being in this program, I would be able to learn one of the many languages that I may come upon in the future. If I were able to communicate to a larger amount of people whose first language is not English, then I would be able to aid way more people. This remains to be the most important part about my career choice, being able to help as many people as I can. Since I have spent 5 months in this program, I already know way more about Japanese culture and language than I had expected and I cannot wait to learn more!
