Interests/Activities: 

Hey, I’m Lucca! My interests mostly involve the arts, as well as social justice and understanding how the world around me works. I love learning languages, implanting change, painting, playing guitar, and making friends. At this point in my education, I’ve been studying Chinese for about 9 years, and it’s become one of my favorite subjects, besides Mathematics. I’m a US – China Strong Ambassador, and I’m on my school’s student council, as well as the staff student advisory community, which usually involves me communicating with staff members at my school and suggesting change, thus implementing changes. I use my hobbies, painting, guitar, volleyball, and a little bit of crotchet to cool down after school. I’m super invested in my art, and I love expressing myself through creative means.

Personal Statement:

I’ve honestly been wanting to learn another language for the longest time. Learning Chinese was one of the best educational experiences of my life, and it opens so many doors for me. Not only did it expose me to a whole other culture, but another way to communicate to others around me, all and all making me a more open minded and well rounded person. By learning Japanese and the culture surrounding Japan, I hope to do the same thing within this program.
