Why I joined the program – again:
I’m in this program for a second time because I truly loved my experience the first time and I hope to open some kind of animal hospital in Japan.
Personal Statement:
I love Japan and the culture and I hope to visit again. I’ve been traveling all my life, from Malawi, Argentina, to Colombia, then finally DC. Growing up I’ve always been the quiet kid, maybe cause I am quiet or maybe cause I was the only black kid. So I’ve learned to observe anything and everything. But when I went to Japan for the first time, it’s like a window opened. I noticed I started reaching out more. I already loved Anime, like Demon Slayer or Hunter X (?). But being in Japan felt amazing. No one stared at me for being different. Instead they asked me to join them. I felt in a sense at home. This is my second time in this program. I do not regret it. I love learning about all the Japanese culture since I’m hoping to live there one day.
