I like to listen to Korean pop music and watch Korean dramas. I like to learn foreign languages. I like to play volleyball and take long walks.

Personal Statement:

I applied for this Japanese program because I thought that it would be a very interesting and fun experience. I genuinely wanted to learn another language other than English, Igbo and Spanish, and this class came up as an opportunity so I immediately signed up for it. I was also interested in learning more personally about Japanese culture other than the bits and pieces that I picked up in mangas and anime.

So far the class has been delightful. I enjoy the struggle of learning a new language and have applied it to the Japanese class. I have worked hard in understanding the different components of the language like the alphabet, different phrases, and the culture. The class so far has taught me many new things and I hope I get to learn more. It has also given me opportunities that I am very thankful for and can’t wait to see what future opportunities await me. Overall, being in this Japanese has been an awesome journey not only from the content of the class but also the interesting people in the class. This Japanese program has definitely solidified my thoughts of visiting Japan some time in the future.
