Zodiac Sign: Aquarius/Year of the Rabbit
Interests/Activities:
My interests are playing video games, singing, reading manga, going outside, sleeping and hanging out with my friends. I’m in a lot of activities during school and out of school. During school I’m a part of the performing arts program which is singing. I’m taking Concert Choir 4, which is the advanced choir. We practice singing at lunch to prepare for upcoming events that we’re invited to, or sometimes if we’re together after school we sing in public spaces for fun. I’m also apart of AALEAD, which stands for Asian American Leadership. This program is a non-profit organization. The purpose of the program is to support low-income underserved Asian-American youth. I am not Asian American, but this program is for everyone. We talk about social justice issues in general or major current events in widespread communities. I used to be a part of a 4-week vocal and dance program. This program was called “KPOP Academy: DC”. The purpose of the program was to train like KPOP idols for 12 hours a week, We met 3-4 times a week. We learned how to sing and dance with professional and popular celebrities. At the end of the program we have a huge showcase where we show how much we’ve learned.

Personal Statement:
I wanted to learn Japanese because I have friends in Japan that can’t speak English well, so I’m taking it upon myself to study their language. It’s the same reason for why I’m studying Chinese in high school. In 7th grade there were students from China studying in my school. They only spoke broken English, so I tried to communicate with them through google translate. At that time google translate was not really reliable. When I entered high school I took it upon myself to study Chinese. Now that I’m in Chinese 4, I can communicate with my friends in their language without the need for google translate. My strength in school is learning another language; I’ve always received an “A” in class. Studying another language can look good on college and jobs applications.
