Grade: Rising 10th Grader

I graduated 9th grade from Sojourner Truth, now transferring to Duke Ellington for 10th. My favorite animals are cats and snow leopards. My favorite activities are playing with my cats, rock climbing, swimming, zip lining and hanging out with friends. I’ve always been a big traveler, as I’ve gone to Paris, London, Madrid, and Italy.

The first big reason I wanted to go to Japan was when I was watching anime. However even after I stopped watching it, I loved their culture. And being the big traveler I am, I always wanted to visit so I decided that I would learn more about it before I went. Which was the reason I joined the program. Especially because when learning world history, teachers mostly focus on Europe, rarely switching to a different continent. So when we started learning about medieval Japan, I just had to learn more. And I wanted to experience more modern day Japan.
