School: The Field School

Grade: Rising 10th Grader (Class of ’26)

About me: I am a storyteller at heart, who loves folklore, fairytales, books, movies, shows, and any other way to convey a good story, real or fiction. I help run my school’s radio station and do a podcast through it. I have a love for animation and animated shows and movies like Over the Green Wall, Gravity Falls, Castlevania, and many movies from Studio Ghibli. I love nothing more than nature and especially the woods. I can often be found listening to podcasts whilst walking through the forest, marveling at the beauty of it all.

Expectations: I’m excited for the program and can’t wait to get out into the city and see all of the Japanese culture that can be found in it. I have had an interest in Japanese culture for years, whether it be through food, folklore, or media. My main goal is to discover more about both Japan and my home city of Washington DC.
