Globalize DC is now recruiting new students for its SY2018-19 school year program.
JAPANESE PLUS is a free afterschool Japanese language, culture, and career exposure program open to DCPS and DC charter high school students. Globalize DC will select up to 25 DC students for our SY2018-19 Japanese Plus program.
The program will meet from September 2018 through May 2019, twice a week – Wednesdays after school (4:30-6:30 pm) and Saturday mornings (9 am-12 noon), plus additional meetings. Meetings will be held at Columbia Heights Education Campus. Students who successfully complete the program may be able to earn high school credit towards graduation.
To be eligible, students must be DC residents attending either a DCPS or DC charter school. Preference will be for 10th and 11th graders, although rising freshmen and seniors are welcome to apply. We are seeking students who:
- Have a serious interest in studying Japanese language and culture.
- Have time in their schedules to fulfill the requirements of the program.
- Have a strong enough academic record to take on an extra class/program.
- Demonstrate a high level of commitment to stick with the program from beginning to end.
Incomplete forms will not be accepted. Applications will be reviewed as they are received. Final selections will be made in early September 2018.
Here’s a JAPANESE PLUS RECRUITMENT FLYER that can be shared with others.
We have scheduled an information session for interested students and parents. Please RSVP to email@example.com.
